Archive for October, 2012

After searching in vain for a matching donation, the Garden Club voted unanimously at our October meeting to match ourselves the $700 earned in our Rain Barrel Fundraiser, bringing the donation total to $1400.  Early in 2013, Broadneck realtor Mona LaCovey came through with a $1000 matching donation for this fundraiser!  This brings the total to $2400.  The best part is: this entire donation will be doubled yet again by the matching grant Goshen Farm has obtained from the State of Maryland, bringing the total to $4800.  Every dollar you spent became nearly $7 thanks to Mona’s generosity.  We are so grateful to her and to all of you who purchased a rain barrel for your home, and those who loyally shop at our plant sale year after year — your generous support made all this possible!  We are so honored and excited to be a part of Goshen Farm’s devoted efforts to preserve this important historic home and treasured open space right in our own community.
