At our November 7th, 2017 Meeting, Members shared photos from their gardens and their travels, showcasing the color of the fall garden.  We all had a marvelous time learning plant names, insect names, and favorite garden haunts from each other!

In late 2016, The Cape St. Claire Improvement Association asked the Garden Club to renovate and maintain these beds flanking the Clubhouse doors.  We were happy to oblige and contribute to all their great work renovating our community’s Clubhouse.

We’re happy to hear that the Board of Governors and our neighbors think the new beds look great.  Below are pictures from the first season of blooms in 2017.

Many thanks to all our Member volunteers who donated their time to source and transport plants, dig out and plant the beds, and to water and weed all summer long.  You can see that our hard work paid off handsomely!

Summer

What a fun and interesting morning we had touring some beautiful, hidden gardens in Cape St Claire!  We all felt inspired by all that we learned.  Afterward, we cooled off and enjoyed a marvelous potluck barbeque.  Thank you to all our Members who brought such delicious food to share, and especially to those dear neighbors who shared their gardens for the tour!

After weeks of planning, digging, planting, and watering, we are so pleased to have beautiful beds to show for our hard work.  The CSCIA Board of Governors expressed much appreciation for how lovely the Clubhouse now looks.  We thank them for all their support year after year for our Garden Club and all the Cape organizations, and we are grateful we can contribute to the beauty of our treasured Clubhouse.
Thank you all those who pitched in on this project, and especially Larry, who watered faithfully every few days.  Everything is growing in beautifully — we can’t wait to see it unfold over the season and in future years as everything matures.
