Wreath Workshop 2017

Many hands made light work of these beautiful wreaths.  Two will join others made by area Garden Clubs for decorating the Maryland Statehouse, and two are for our own Cape Clubhouse.

At our November 7th, 2017 Meeting, Members shared photos from their gardens and their travels, showcasing the color of the fall garden.  We all had a marvelous time learning plant names, insect names, and favorite garden haunts from each other!

In late 2016, The Cape St. Claire Improvement Association asked the Garden Club to renovate and maintain these beds flanking the Clubhouse doors.  We were happy to oblige and contribute to all their great work renovating our community’s Clubhouse.

We’re happy to hear that the Board of Governors and our neighbors think the new beds look great.  Below are pictures from the first season of blooms in 2017.

Many thanks to all our Member volunteers who donated their time to source and transport plants, dig out and plant the beds, and to water and weed all summer long.  You can see that our hard work paid off handsomely!

Harvest Dinner 2017

A delicious potluck, crab dip and wine punch, fall-blooming flowers for our plant raffle, pumpkins and gourds decorating every table, and celebrating another good harvest with gardening friends — what more do we need?
